1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using futuresbom.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

futuresbom.com provides SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) analysis services to identify end-of-life (EOL) software components. The Service includes:

• Web-based SBOM file upload and analysis
• API access for programmatic SBOM checking
• EOL data sourced from endoflife.date
• API key management and usage tracking

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• One account per person or organization
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account

3.2 Account Security

• Keep your password and API keys confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

4. Service Tiers and Pricing

4.1 Free Tier

• SBOM uploads via web interface with CAPTCHA verification
• No API key access
• Subject to rate limiting

4.2 Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions provide API access with monthly scan limits:

• Starter: 25 API scans/month ($5/month)
• Basic: 50 API scans/month ($10/month)
• Professional: 125 API scans/month ($20/month)
• Business: 350 API scans/month ($50/month)
• Enterprise: 1000 API scans/month ($100/month)
• Create multiple API keys that share account limit
• Priority support (Professional tier and above)

4.3 Payment and Billing

• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
• No refunds for partial months
• Cancel anytime; access continues until end of billing period

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Abuse or circumvent rate limits
• Share or resell API keys
• Attempt to overload or attack the Service
• Upload malicious files or content
• Scrape or collect data beyond normal API usage
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

6. API Usage

6.1 Rate Limits

• Free tier: Web interface with CAPTCHA (no API access)
• Paid subscriptions: Monthly scan limits based on tier
• All API keys under an account share the monthly limit
• Limits reset monthly on your subscription renewal date

6.2 API Keys

• API keys are personal and non-transferable
• Create multiple keys per account (all share monthly limit)
• Revoke compromised keys immediately
• API keys shown only once upon creation

7. Data and Privacy

7.1 Your Data

• You retain ownership of all SBOM files you upload
• SBOM files are processed in memory and not stored
• We collect only minimal usage statistics

7.2 EOL Data

• EOL data is sourced from endoflife.date
• Data is cached for up to 24 hours
• We do not guarantee accuracy or completeness

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service depends on third-party APIs and may experience downtime or interruptions.

• Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible
• We may modify or discontinue features at any time
• We will provide notice of material changes when possible

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

9.1 No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• EOL data will be accurate, complete, or current
• Results will meet your specific requirements
• Defects will be corrected

9.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Damages exceeding the amount paid in the last 12 months

9.3 Security Decisions

• The Service provides information only
• You are responsible for your own security decisions
• Do not rely solely on EOL status for security assessments

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Service Content

• The Service, including design and code, is owned by futuresbom.com
• You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service

10.2 Your Content

• You retain ownership of SBOM files you upload
• By uploading, you grant us a temporary license to process the file
• This license ends when processing is complete

11. Termination

11.1 By You

• You may cancel your account at any time
• Contact us to request account deletion
• Paid subscriptions continue until end of billing period

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Abuse the Service
• Fail to pay fees (paid tier)
• Engage in fraudulent activity

12. Third-Party Services

• We use endoflife.date for EOL data
• Optional: Google OAuth, reCAPTCHA
• Third-party services have their own terms and policies

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where futuresbom.com is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
